It's a big decision

To have the surgery or to not, that is the question. For me it ended up being more about the timing. Previously I have had 4 discectomies, and have spent many months of my life over the last 10 years in bed, unable to walk and participate in life. Each time another disc would herniate I would wait it out for as long as possible, doing all of the conservative treatments and would either get back on my feet or end up in surgery. Surgeries always worked great, unfortunately a year or two later another disc would bulge and floor me and I would be back to square one... Here is just one of the many disc bulges. This one definately hurt and after about five months of dealing finally had it surgically removed. Note the darkness of the adjacent discs and compare to your discs when contemplating procedures.
